Rostock (dpa / mv) - The tourism industry and the hospitality industry in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are preparing for the possible short-term reopening of businesses from Christmas to New Year's Eve and the time after the partial lockdown.

To this end, the “More safety in the holiday region of MV” seal was developed.

The aim is to increase the acceptance and responsible handling of the protection standards in the industry, announced the tourism and Dehoga associations on Friday.

The seal should show hosts a way to deal with travelers from risk areas, it said.

With the voluntary commitment, the companies are taking even more responsibility for the safety of guests and employees.

Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) said on Wednesday evening that in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in contrast to most other federal states, the decision on the continuation of the partial lockdown and thus the further closure of the accommodation and catering establishments would not be made until December 15.

An opening is then possible if the number of infections has not slipped into the risk area.

According to the information, the companies have a choice of three variants of the seal: There is the "basic seal", the "seal +" and the "seal ++".

The basic seal obliges the hosts, among other things, to implement the applicable protection standards in their companies and to know the current regulations, for example on quarantine measures.

The “Siegel +” means, for example, that staff are measured daily for fever, while guests are measured on arrival.

The "Seal ++" includes a mandatory negative test for guests from risk areas with a seven-day value of 150 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and the provision of corona test kits for guests.
