Friedberg (dpa / lhe) - Because he was in the home office, a police officer not only prevented a possible break-in into his house - but also arrested the alleged burglar.
As the police announced on Friday, the officer in Friedberg (Wetteraukreis) had become aware of an intruder in his garden through the alarm of a motion detector.
When he went outside to see if everything was OK, the suspected intruder ran away.
The superintendent followed the man and arrested him while he was sniffing around another garden.
The 41-year-old is known to the police.
He is now threatened with trespassing proceedings.
