Martfeld (dpa / lni) - The last stage of the relocation of an almost 500-year-old half-timbered house is due today.
The unusual journey of 140 meters through Martfeld (Diepholz district) had already started two days earlier: the pastor's house from 1535 is not transported on a truck, but rather rolled in the traditional way on round pieces of wood.
The most difficult part has already been done, said client Anton Bartling from the Martfeld home and beautification association on Thursday.
He was confident that the move would be made on schedule.
After the renovation, the pastor's house will serve as an exhibition space.
It is said to show the history of the Reformation in the countryside in the former County of Hoya.
