Abou Zayed arrived at Roissy airport a little before 8 p.m. on an Air France plane from Oslo.

Wanted by French justice for his participation in the attack in the historic Jewish quarter of Paris which left 6 dead and 22 wounded, the man of Palestinian origin has always claimed his innocence.

Better known under the name Osman in Norway where he was naturalized in 1997, he had previously benefited from Oslo's refusal to extradite its nationals.

But the entry into force last year of

a legal agreement between the

Norwegian and French

police

forces was a game-changer.

Expected by France for years, this extradition is today a beacon of hope for the families of the victims awaiting trial for more than 40 years.

Three other international arrest warrants were also issued by the French courts in connection with this case.

They target two individuals located in Jordan and a third in the West Bank.
