04 December 2020It is a meticulous and complex work that the Bergamo prosecutor is carrying out in an attempt to reconstruct all the contagion chains for thousands of fans present at the San Siro stadium, in Milan, for the Atalanta match valid for the second round of Champions.

In fact, the Atalanta-Valencia match of 19 February at San Siro, but also that of excellence Albino-Codogno on 9 February enter the Bergamo investigation into the deaths from Covid.

The Bergamo Public Prosecutor's Office, as explained to Tg3 by the prosecutor Antonio Chiappani and the adjunct Maria Cristina Rota, acquired the list of fans to reconstruct who was at the stadium, on board which vehicles they arrived and where they came from, comparing the data with how many cases there have been in the localities from which the fans came.

This is to assess the existence of other outbreaks in addition to that of the Alzano Lombardo hospital.

During the investigations, the Bergamo prosecutors explained, Atalanta showed "great collaboration", providing information on the composition of about 40 buses that reached the Milanese stadium from various areas of the Orobic province.

Other investigations were ordered by the Bergamo Public Prosecutor's Office on the flow of people arriving at Orio al Serio airport who arrived from numerous foreign countries before the lockdown.

Epidemiologist Merler summoned

In the afternoon the Bergamo prosecutor's office formalized the convocation, set for next Tuesday, of the Trentino epidemiologist Stefano Merler, of the Bruno Kessler foundation in Trento.

Merler was the author of the first Italian projection of Chinese data on Covid-19 entitled 'Scenarios of diffusion of 2019-NCOV in Italy and impact on the national health system'.

The same research is used by the government to study the first pandemic plan.

Merler, according to what the chief prosecutor Antonio Chiappani wants, will have to clarify and explain the real situation of the pandemic plans in Italy, which according to what was reported by the epidemiologist himself would be stopped in 2006.

With his testimony we want to understand if it has been updated or not the Italian anti-pandemic plan while the Bergamo investigators are awaiting a response from the Foreign Ministry regarding the position of some WHO experts, summoned in recent days but who did not appear, opposing diplomatic immunity.
