On Thursday, there was a press screening of the new premises in the Gallerian.

After renting a room on Slottsgatan for ten years, Västerås Kulturförening has now had to move when the rent became too expensive.

- When we heard that Västerås Art Gallery needed new premises, we offered them to rent the premises here in the Mall.

We like to find businesses that are not usually next to each other.

It feels very exciting, says Tariq Boholm who is business unit manager for Klövern in Västerås.

Västerås Art Association has now rented the premises and they are satisfied and expectant with the solution.

- We will have our exhibitions, but in addition to that we also plan to run an art school for adults and some activities for children, says Västerås Art Association's chairman Johnny Molton.

- People feel good about art, research also shows.

That is why it feels important that we give art its space in our city as well, says Maria Fors.

Västerås Art Gallery will open its doors in the Mall in mid-January 2021.
