Hanover (dpa / lni) - Journalists from private radio and television stations have been awarded the Lower Saxony Media Prize 2020 in Hanover.

The award, endowed with a total of 15,000 euros, went to ten authors of outstanding television and radio reports on Thursday evening in Hanover.

The winners included the stations Radio ffn, Radio Hannover, OS-Radio 104.8 and Radio Okerwelle.

RTL Nord and Sat.1 Regional received awards on television.

A pupil from the Humboldt-Gymnasium Bad Pyrmont received the prize for the best school internet radio report.

For the media award, which was awarded for the 26th time, 409 contributions had been submitted in categories such as information and entertainment.

There were awards for volunteers on radio and television.

Because of the corona pandemic, the award ceremony was held digitally for the first time. The more than 20 nominees did not know beforehand which of them had won - the winners were activated online and the prizes were received on their doorstep. Among the laudators at the award ceremony were Peter Kloeppel and Frauke Ludowig (RTL), singer Michael Schulte and footballer Hendrik Weydandt (Hannover 96).
