In the United States, Democratic congressional officials have supported the aid package proposed by a bipartisan group.
A concession from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer who hoped for an envelope two to three times larger than the 908 billion proposed.
For his part, the head of the majority in the Senate said he was open to compromise, but recalled that the president had not given his agreement.

The Congress session theoretically ends at the end of next week.
If no aid plan is adopted, 12 million Americans will lose their unemployment benefits on December 31.
