  • Viareggio massacre: pg asks for 15 years and 6 months for Moretti, formerly of Ferrovie

02 December 2020A new appeal process for the former CEO of Fs and Rfi Mauro Moretti in relation to the allegations of railway disaster and multiple manslaughter for the Viareggio massacre (32 deaths on 29 June 2009) for which he was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by the Court of Appeal of Florence: the Pg of the Cassation Pasquale Fimiani asked for it in his indictment.



Among other things, the confirmation of the 6 years in prison for Michele Mario Elia, former CEO of RFI, and Vincenzo Soprano, formerly of Trenitalia, and of the penalties charged to the executives and managers of the foreign companies where the freight wagons were sent for review.



It was learned from the direct social media of the victims' families, and from sources of the Supreme Court itself, which celebrated the hearing on the Viareggio massacre behind closed doors for anti Covid security reasons.

Furthermore, the Pg asked for the cancellation with postponement of the four-year prison sentence for the manager Francesco Favo, and the cancellation of the acquittals for Di Marco and Giovanni Costa, two other managers of the companies involved in the accident.
