“They build the state on the denial of everything Russian and everything Soviet,” Tsekov stressed.

The parliamentarian recalled that as a state Ukraine took place "thanks to the comprehensive support of the Russian Empire, and then the Soviet Union."

The senator believes that the ideology of modern Ukraine, which, in particular, consists in rewriting history and abandoning its past, “killed” this country.

Earlier, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN Serhiy Kislitsa at a meeting of the UN General Assembly put the actions of Soviet soldiers and soldiers of Nazi Germany on a par.

Kislitsa recalled the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, which, in his words, "divided the spheres of interest between the two dictatorships."

According to him, "the Soviets killed thousands of Ukrainians after the occupation, then killed even more, retreating in 1941, destroying and setting fire to important infrastructure in cities as the Nazi forces advanced."
