The Alliance for the Republic (APR) celebrated its 12th anniversary on Tuesday.
The RPA faces internal tensions, in particular with the recent opening to the opposition wanted by the president.
The official ceremony was therefore an opportunity for activists to re-mobilize, despite the absence of the Head of State.

recent cabinet reshuffle
, however, has made people cringe.
A “
collective of authentic activists
” has even been created.
For them, “
the identity of the RPA has been disfigured
” by alliances which threaten the unity of the party.
Charges rejected by Fode Banora, coordinator of the Movement of Republican Students and Students (MEER) of the department of Tambacounda: “
I think the president is the only person who knows the objective.
What he said was an opening.
The President of the Republic, he took Idrissa Seck and Aissata Tall Sall because he thinks that these people can bring something for Senegal
”.
Third term?
The other debate that agitates the party is a possible third term of the Head of State in 2024. Debate “
premature
”, officially.
But in front of the RPA logo - a beige horse's head on a brown background - Khady Pouye does not say no: "
If he wants a third term, he must be given it.
For the moment, that's the job
”.
The head of state, announced to celebrate this anniversary, ultimately did not come.
