Darmstadt (dpa / lhe) - In the trial of the alleged robbery and murder of a pensioner, the pleadings are expected in the Darmstadt district court today.
The accused is a 20-year-old who knew the 89-year-old victim well.
The young German confessed that in mid-December 2019 he knocked down the pensioner in his apartment in Reichelsheim in the Odenwald district with a long ratchet wrench and seriously injured the head.
He claims to have bought drugs with the stolen € 650 in cash.
The pensioner, who was in need of care after the fact, died in April.
According to forensic medicine, the death was a result of the injuries in the robbery.
