On November 29, a source told RIA Novosti that an Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes on a Yemeni rebel military base near Sana'a.

According to Foreign Policy, citing a source, the American administration intends to recognize the Houthis as a terrorist organization.

The war between the Yemeni government and the Houthi rebels has continued since 2014.

In September 2019, the Arab coalition announced the beginning of a military operation in the north of Hodeidah in Yemen, directed against "military targets."

In response to these actions, Yemeni rebels accused Saudi Arabia and its allies of escalating the conflict.
