Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The new month begins for the people of Rhineland-Palatinate with new restrictions: To combat the corona pandemic, further measures come into force today.

For example, private get-togethers should be limited to one's own household and one other household with a maximum of five people.

Children under the age of 14 are not included.

In addition, an extended mask requirement applies outdoors in places where people meet in a confined space.

A mask is also required at the workplace if a minimum distance of 1.50 meters cannot be maintained.

Visiting rules are becoming stricter in old people's and nursing homes.

In larger stores, the number of customers is more limited.

The partial lockdown with closed restaurants, fitness studios and cultural institutions, which has been prescribed since November, will continue.

The 13th Corona Control Ordinance initially applies until shortly before Christmas (including December 20th).

In mid-December, a decision will be made on a new Corona regulation with specific rules for the time over the Christmas holidays until after New Year's Eve.

The plan is to allow a household to meet with non-household family members or people outside the household of up to ten people from December 23 to January 1.

Children up to the age of 14 should not count here either.
