The National Police has released a 31-year-old woman of Spanish nationality who was being held and threatened by her partner at her home
on Maquinilla Street
in the
Puente de Vallecas
district of Madrid
, according to the Madrid Police Headquarters.
The 42-year-old boyfriend was arrested by the agents for illegal detention and a crime of
gender violence
.
He has a police record for
mistreatment
and drug trafficking.
The case came to light during the early hours of Sunday after receiving a call on 091 from a citizen who had found several handwritten notes in the building in which a woman asked for help.
In one of the writings he said: "Please, I need help. My partner has hit me and has me locked up. My cell phone has broken, call the police. Don't ring the bell, they come up, it's scary what he can do to me while threatening to do something to me when I fall asleep. "
When agents of the Citizen Attention Groups arrived at the scene, they could verify that in the distress notes
a woman asked that the Police be called because she had been attacked and was locked up, threatened and held incommunicado at her home,
since her partner he had broken her cell phone and was threatening to kill her.
After locating the house and repeatedly asking for it to be opened, they
had to enter by force, finding both the victim and her alleged assailant inside
.
Upon observing that the woman had bruises and scratches, as well as her manifestations of having been
attacked
for a
long time
by her partner, the officers detained the man despite the victim's refusal to file a complaint.
