A man beaten to death in a city of Marseille

A 41-year-old man with numerous bruises was found dead Monday evening in the stairwell of a building in the city of Bricarde in the north of Marseille, we learned Tuesday from firefighters and police source.

The man was beaten with an iron bar, feet and fists, said a police source, adding "that the author was on the run."

Heart failure

The firefighters called to the scene around 7 p.m. were unable to resuscitate the victim who was in cardio-respiratory arrest when they arrived.

A forensic obstacle to determine the cause of death was issued and the judicial police seized of the investigation.
