On November 29, the "lone elephant" in a zoo in Pakistan set off for Cambodia. After being transported by cargo plane and truck, it went to a wildlife sanctuary in Cambodia.

This male Asian elephant is named "Kavan" and is 35 years old.

When he was 1 year old, he came to live in a zoo in the capital Islamabad as a gift from the Sri Lankan government to Pakistan.

In the early 1990s, the Pakistani government introduced the female Asian elephant "Sahri" from Bangladesh as a company with Kavan.

Sahli passed away in 2012, and Kavan, who was alone, was depressed afterwards, with a small living space and poor environment.

The media described Kavan as "the loneliest elephant in the world."

Over the years, it has been the only Asian elephant in Pakistan, and there are a few African elephants in other zoos in Pakistan.

The Islamabad High Court ruled in May, demanding that the government transfer Kavan to a wildlife sanctuary in Cambodia for the rest of his life.

The Cambodian government department has made arrangements to receive Kavan.
