Munich (dpa / lby) - The education and science union (GEW) has failed with an urgent application for more corona protective measures in Bavaria's schools.

The administrative court in Munich rejected the application on Monday as inadmissible.

As a spokesman for the court announced, no decision was made on the matter.

The judges assumed that the GEW is not entitled to sue at all (Az. M 26a E 20.5999).

With its motion, the union wanted to enforce smaller classes and the maintenance of the minimum distance in schools.

The GEW justified the urgent application that teachers and students would not be adequately protected from corona infections by the previous classroom teaching at Bavarian schools.

The court emphasized that the GEW lacks the power to file an application.

First of all, the applicant must assert that his / her own rights may have been violated.

The administrative court does not see this at the union.

There is no violation of the right to physical integrity, since this fundamental right is not applicable to trade unions.

The GEW could also not exercise rights of members on behalf of the application.
