29 November 2020 "The EU has booked 6 million doses from six pharmaceutical companies. Among these, there are 3 that are in the most advanced phase. In January it is possible that the first doses of vaccines will begin to be in Europe. And they will arrive at the same time to all European countries. The negotiation was done for all by the commission. And this guarantees parity in distribution ".

This was stated by the EU commissioner for economic affairs, Paolo Gentiloni interviewed by Lucia Annunziata half an hour more on Rai3.

"If there are one million doses, 135,000 will arrive in Italy, x in Germany and so on".

"It is one of the things that the EU has asked for with greater force in recent months, that is, we try to bring out not only the priorities but also organizational solutions that make it possible to absorb these resources".

Thus the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs, Paolo Gentiloni, to the microphones of 'Half an hour more', on Rai3, about the governance that the executive is thinking about for the Recovery plan that will give access to the 209 billion European funds.

"Italy has 30% of the Recovery Fund block - he adds -. How to absorb these resources in a short time will be a fascinating challenge", therefore "I find it very right that the government is taking on this challenge".

"I would not like to appear disrespectful towards Italy, but the possible government reshuffle does not seem to be at the top of the European Commission's agenda".

Thus the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs.

"We have had positive experiences of commissioners that have worked, in some cases entrusted to mayors for local problems. It is the government that has to decide, we usually absorb 40% of European resources: in this case there is an additional problem, if the plans are delayed and objectives are not reached within the established times, there is a risk that the commission will interrupt the disbursements ", said Gentiloni, interviewed by Lucia Annunziata.

"The problem - he continues - does not concern the people who will do it but being able to simplify procedures. I don't know anything about the government scheme".

"I think that we will be able to overcome this veto by Poland and Hungary on the budget and the Recovery Fund: they need these resources, they are among the countries most affected by this pandemic. A break? I don't think it will come to this".

So Paolo Gentiloni.

"Debts are not canceled, not in Europe, President Lagarde made it clear. This is not the point: we must prevent the fact of having high debt limits the ability to respond to this crisis, I think this has happened, it would be it was a deadly mistake "the opposite but" it would be equally serious to ignore the debt issue in the medium term, it is a challenge that a country like Italy cannot

forget ".

Thus the EU Commissioner for Economic Affairs.

Today, he added, "no one has debt sustainability problems, we have very low interest rates but this situation does not necessarily last forever. The answer is not to cancel the debt but to work to make our common rules compatible".

"A minister with super powers? I have some experience, for unpacking or new ministries it takes time in Italy. I think it is par excellence a choice that belongs to the government and Prime Minister. The important thing is that conditions are created, with appropriate organizational changes and legislative, to simplify some decision-making processes ", said the European Commissioner for Economic Affairs.
