Charlie Dalin continued on Saturday at the head of the Vendée Globe, between the 40th Roaring and the 50th Hurlants, while the former Welsh leader, Alex Thomson, was forced to retire after another damage.

The Apivia skipper is taking part in his very first solo round the world race.

He is still followed on Saturday evening by Thomas Rettant (LinkedOut), at 291 nautical miles (538 km).

The two men, who steer the latest generation boats, have in their wake the dean of the race, Jean Le Cam (Yes We Cam!), Third with his 13 year old boat.

Thomson (Hugo Boss), who was trying to resume the course of the race after having had to repair structural problems on his boat for four days, finally retired on Saturday due to a new damage, on the starboard rudder (part of the rudder) .
