Sources: Britain begins vaccination against "Corona" after 9 days

Earlier on Saturday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson appointed Nazem Al-Zahawi as minister responsible for distributing the Covid-19 vaccine.

Al-Zahawi, who is of Iraqi origin, is Minister of State for Business.

Britain said on November 20 that it had formally requested the pharmaceutical sector regulator to assess the suitability of the Covid-19 vaccine developed by Biontech and Pfizer for use in the country, the first step in making it available outside the United States.

Britain has requested 40 million doses of the vaccine, which trials have proven to be 95% effective in preventing Covid-19, which has killed more than 1.4 million people around the world and paralyzed the global economy.

The British government has requested 100 million doses of the vaccine, which is being developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, and is seeking to start using it before Christmas.
