Dresden (dpa) - The volleyball women of the Dresdner SC have stayed on the road to success.

The team of trainer Alexander Waibl fulfilled its duty on Saturday in the east derby against Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt and won a hard-fought home game in the end with 3: 0 (21:19, 25:20, 25:21).

Waibl gave some players from the second row a chance to play against the bottom of the table from Thuringia.

After a balanced start phase, the hosts dictated the action with a powerful serve and attack game.

In the second round, the guests from Thuringia, who sacrificially fight for every ball, offered more resistance.

In the decisive phases, however, the five-time German champion showed his qualities.

In the third section, too, Dirk Sauermann's protégés tried everything to stand up to the favorites, but the Dresden women could not be disturbed and went through their match plan.

After 77 minutes, Emma Cyris converted the first match point to victory.
