Four police officers under investigation by the IGPN after the broadcast of images of the beating of a music producer in Paris were placed in police custody on Friday.

"There will be no complacency" towards them, promises on Europe 1 Clément Beaune, Secretary of State for European Affairs.

INTERVIEW

The images had toured France on Thursday.

Four police officers were suspended and placed in police custody on Friday in connection with the Michel Zecler affair, this black producer beaten up in the entrance of a music studio in the 17th arrondissement of Paris last Saturday.

"There will be no complacency" towards these agents, promised Clément Beaune, Secretary of State for European Affairs, guest of Europe 1.

"The Minister of the Interior was very clear on the government's position. We will be intractable. When there are acts which are not police acts but delinquency, they must be punished. It is our responsibility" , he emphasizes.

The investigation will be "clear and complete"

The officials, whose precautionary suspension was pronounced Thursday, arrived Friday at the premises of the IGPN, the "police force", where they were taken into custody.

The Paris public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation against them for "violence by a person holding public authority" and "forgery in public writing".

An investigation which will be carried out in a "clear" and "complete" way, assures the Secretary of State.

He warns, however: "We must not fall into the trap where the entire police force is tainted by this affair."

In recent months, more and more voices have been raised to question the competence of the IGPN, precisely accusing it of complacency towards the agents being the subject of its investigations.

Asked about the question, Clément Beaune replied: "As a citizen, I am in favor of opening up avenues on control methods, or on different inspections. Let us not be afraid to open the debate. But he Above all, do not let yourself be locked into the news, as terrible as it is. "
