"The Young and the Restless", one of the longest televised soap operas ever shot, will take a new step next week: on December 1, their 12,000th episode will be broadcast.

"Since 1973, the Young and the Restless have been part of the daily life of millions of Americans. Tuesday (...), they will reach a milestone: episode number 12,000", rejoiced CBS, the American channel which broadcasts the soap opera.

"The Young and the Restless", in English, is watched by tens of millions of people in several countries, including France on TF1.

The plot revolves around a few families in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

With a slew of marriages, separations, disappearances and mysterious reappearances ...

Several of the actors have been playing their character for decades.

For this event, a "special" week is planned on the channel starting Monday, with "flashbacks and the return of some beloved characters".

In particular, fans will be able to relive "some of the love stories of the soap opera, such as the story of the iconic couple Victor and Nikki Newman".
