Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah orders the release of 219 inmates of the Correctional Institution

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has ordered the release of 219 inmates of the Correctional and Punitive Institution in Ras Al Khaimah who are serving varying penalties and those who have been sentenced in different cases, on the occasion of the state’s celebrations of the 49th National Day.

This order comes in the interest of His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah to alleviate the suffering of their families, and to give the released another opportunity to turn the page of the past.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, directed to take the necessary measures to implement the order of His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah to release those covered by the pardon of inmates of the Correctional and Punitive Institution in Ras Al Khaimah and in coordination with the General Command of Ras Al Khaimah Police as soon as possible.

Counselor Hassan Saeed Muhaimid, Attorney General of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, said that the generosity of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, to pardon some of those convicted comes from His Highness’s keenness to give those covered by the amnesty the opportunity to reintegrate into the fabric of society.
