Munich (dpa / lby) - The extended partial lockdown will, from the point of view of the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, “bring even more companies into distress”.

The extension of the restrictions until Christmas and probably until the New Year is painful for many companies, said BIHK President Eberhard Sasse on Thursday in Munich.

Around 40 percent of the companies in the travel, gastronomy, cultural, creative and event industries now see their existence threatened by their own account.

Federal politics must implement the announced aid programs quickly.

"The companies have to know as soon as possible when they will get the urgently needed grants and compensation," said Sasse.

Otherwise, many companies and self-employed would be facing the end.
