Berlin (AP) - Bundesliga basketball team Alba Berlin has fought for its second home win in the Euroleague.

The Berliners won on Thursday evening in front of empty stands in their own hall in the basement duel with Khimki Moscow after a strong performance 100: 80 (50:44).

Overall, it was Alba’s third success in the ninth Euroleague game.

The best Berlin throwers were the outstanding captain Niels Giffey with 22 and Luke Siikma with 20 points.

Jonas Mattisseck was absent from Alba due to muscular problems, but Louis Olinde returned after his injury.

The Berliners slept through the start, losing the ball very quickly in their first three attacks. After a minute they were already 0: 6 behind, and coach Aito Garcia Reneses took the time-out.

The Berliners got better into the game and equaled shortly before the end of the first quarter at 17:17.

Mainly thanks to the good defensive work, the German champions now increasingly won the ball.

And the ball ran better in attack too.

At the beginning of the second quarter, Berlin took the lead for the first time (25:24).

The hosts now acted more variably and with more speed.

So the lead could be extended until the break.

After the break, Alba seamlessly continued the good game, repeatedly found solutions on the offensive and was able to further pull away.

Towards the end of the third quarter, the lead increased to 18 points (77:59).

Now the Berliners succeeded in almost everything to the end.
