After almost half of all Östersund residents fell ill with the cryptosporidia infection for ten years, it became clear that water purification must be significantly improved in the municipality.

At first, the idea was to modernize the existing waterworks, but later the decision was made instead to build a new one.

Will be ready in six years

The planning of it has started this autumn.

In six years, the waterworks will be ready.
