Harsum (dpa / lni) - In Harsum in the Hildesheim district, parts of the rotor blade of a wind turbine fell down.

No one was injured, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

About half of the wing broke off.

The cause of the incident in the Hönnersum district is still completely unclear, the investigations are ongoing, said the spokesman.

According to Dirk Ihmels, managing director of the company Innovent from Varel, which planned the wind farm, experts are working on researching the causes.

So far there has been "not even a guess" about the cause: "The most important thing: nothing happened to anyone."

The inspection of the system was not long ago, in principle it is in good condition, said Ihmels. There was no further property damage. According to a report in the “Hildesheimer Allgemeine Zeitung”, the new wind farms have not been in operation for long. The first system went into operation in June 2019.
