24 November 2020 The German federated states have agreed on a proposal for

rules related to the Christmas holidays

, in relation to the coronavirus pandemic: in the period between 23 December and 1 January, meetings between people of people not belonging to the same housing unit will be allowed, up to a

maximum of ten participants

. This is what emerges from a

joint draft resolution

by the governors, released by the German agency Dpa and picked up by local media. The governors will discuss it tomorrow with Chancellor Angela Merkel.



In addition, the draft requires people to respect a self-imposed quarantine at home, if possible, before the holiday season, in order to minimize the risk of infection. "This can be helped by the school holidays for Christmas, which can be brought forward to December 19," says the draft document.



Ski season postponed


Due to the soft lockdown launched against the second wave of coronavirus, the opening of the ski season in Germany, scheduled for November 13, has been postponed to December. If nothing changes in the last few days, the first plants between the first and the middle of December, reports the ADAC (German automobile club). In Feldberg in the Black Forest, where there is the largest ski resort in Germany, protection measures are ready against the coronavirus which provide in case of need a limited number of access to the slopes with quota tickets, the obligation of a mask, safety distances and dispenser of sanitizers and ventilated cabins.   



13,554 new cases and 249 deaths


Germany has recorded 13,554 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, according to the latest update from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases. The figure brings to 942,687 the infections diagnosed in total in the country. There were 249 new coronavirus-related deaths, updating the overall death toll to 14,361 deaths.



Preparations for the vaccine


Germany is preparing for the anticovid vaccine, and in Berlin over 1000 volunteers are sought, including doctors, health professionals and assistants, who will have to activate on this front already in the second half of December. The capital has planned 6 large centers, with the plan to administer 20,000 doses of the vaccine per day, as soon as this is available, to cover 400,000 people among the categories that will have priority.
