A spokesman for the department said that "France regrets the US decision to withdraw from the Open Skies Treaty."
"The operation of this treaty provides us with transparency and increases predictability in the field of military activities, in particular with regard to Russia," the diplomat was quoted as saying by TASS.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the completion by the United States of the procedure for withdrawing from the Don.
The Foreign Ministry noted that Russia will seek "firm guarantees that the states remaining in the OST will fulfill their obligations, firstly, to ensure the possibility of observing their entire territory, and secondly, to not transfer materials of observation flights to third countries that are not OON participants."
