Burgen (dpa / lrs) - A single-family house in Burgen (Mayen-Koblenz district) caught fire early Tuesday morning.
As a police spokesman said, the resident - an elderly man - is currently still missing.
The extinguishing work is still ongoing.
According to the spokesman, the single-family house is part of a building complex with several houses.
The residents from the surrounding houses were therefore brought to safety.
The cause of the fire was still unclear in the morning.
The federal highway 49 between Burgen and Moselwehr had been closed in both directions due to the extinguishing work.
