The 38-year-old man, who held six children hostage for several hours in one of the apartments of the Kolpinsky district of St. Petersburg, surrendered to the police after lengthy negotiations.

None of the hostages were hurt.

Alarm call

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the message about the seizure of hostages in the house number 73 on Proletarskaya Street in the St. Petersburg district of Kolpino arrived at 12:12.

The woman said that her husband kicked her out of the house in the morning, locked himself in the apartment and threatened to stab the six children in the apartment aged 3 to 15 years.

"A 34-year-old local resident turned to the law enforcement agencies of St. Petersburg with a statement that the 38-year-old roommate would not let her into an apartment located in one of the houses on Proletarskaya Street where six children are, threatening her and them with murder."

The invader, according to media reports, was 38-year-old Denis Beltyukov, who at the time of the scandal was in a state of intoxication.

It is known that about two years ago the family moved to St. Petersburg from Arkhangelsk.

After the security forces arrived at the scene, Beltyukov began shouting out the window that he would kill everyone, and threatened with a knife.

During the negotiations, he demanded that his wife be returned to him, whom he himself had kicked out in the morning.

However, the woman, fearing reprisals, was in no hurry to enter the apartment.

As Olga's sister Nadezhda told RT, they have actually been married with Denis for a long time, but they formalized the relationship about two years ago.

“Of the six children they have in common, they have three, they are from three to six years old somewhere,” she said.

According to media reports, Beltyukov was registered with psychiatrists.

“Two weeks ago, my father was already in a borderline state.

The specialists accompanied him to the medical facility, where they were given instructions on how to take the medications.

We do not know whether he took it or not.

Now the special forces, the head of the administration, are in place, "the press service of the district administration told Fontanka.

In addition, the district administration noted that the children were engaged in the social rehabilitation center as children from a large family and received assistance as needy.

The same publication later clarified that head problems were caused by prolonged use of alcohol, and Beltyukov's wife turned to doctors for help.

Olga's sister, in turn, told RT that she had never heard of Denis's mental problems, and found it difficult to imagine what might be motivated by his act.

“I saw Denis live only a few times, talked with Olga, but it seemed like everything was fine, she didn’t tell anything like that,” she said.

The large family had financial problems.

The neighbors of the spouses told the journalists about this, and this is confirmed by the information of the Arkhangelsk bailiffs.

The FSPP database contains information about several enforcement proceedings against Denis Beltyukov.

The total amount of debts is about 250 thousand rubles.

His wife Olga also has debts, but for a smaller amount.

According to Nadezhda, recently Denis earned his living by building work, doing apartment renovations.

“Olga even went to work with him, saying, they say, for control.

He could get drunk there or skip work.

In Arkhangelsk, he didn’t really do anything, he didn’t work here, but when we moved to Kolpino, it seemed that he immediately began to work constantly: first at a factory, then there are repairs, ”Nadezhda said.

"I went for a walk with this Seryozha"

The motive for the desperate act was jealousy because of the alleged betrayal of his wife.

This was stated by Beltyukov himself when, after the start of the police special operation, the journalists of "KP" contacted him.

“I left for Arkhangelsk in the summer, and she left six children at home and went for a walk with her friend and this Seryozha.

I understood everything by geotags.

I went to the hotel with him.

I looked later on social networks.

Therefore, he kicked her out.

And now everything is over for me.

Or to durka, or to jail, ”he said.

Beltyukov stressed that he is not going to harm children.

He also noted that the gas has already been turned off in the apartment, and therefore he and the children cannot cook food.

He also commented on his mental problems.

“I went to a psychiatrist.

They gave me some garbage, I went for a day and stopped.

What do I need now?

I don’t want to go to jail, but I’ll kill you in the durka.

What should I do now?

Everything.

A fool himself, ”said the invader.

Peaceful denouement

Ultimately, after lengthy negotiations, he agreed to leave the apartment.

The conversation with the district prosecutor Igor Ivkin turned out to be decisive, after which Beltyukov released the children and surrendered.

In relation to the detainee, the regional department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraphs "g", "d", part 2 of Art.

127 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal imprisonment).

If Beltyukov is found sane, he will face imprisonment for a term of three to five years under this article.

According to the Investigative Committee, the issue of choosing the detainee as a preventive measure is now being decided.
