“Unfortunately, despite the intense round-the-clock work, it has really not been possible to completely eliminate the consequences of the ice storm,” a Kremlin spokesman told reporters.

He noted that the storm was very strong and caused colossal damage to infrastructure.

According to him, work is being carried out around the clock, the federal government is also taking measures: a commission has been created, the Ministry of Emergencies is actively working, power plants are being transferred to the site.

As Peskov emphasized, "the force of the blow of nature is such that these consequences cannot be eliminated overnight."

Earlier, the head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexei Chekunkov, said that the peak of the crisis after the cyclone in Primorye had passed.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to provide the region with maximum resources for emergency response.
