A question about the preschool and that guardians with established covid-19 may leave their child to the preschool - if it can be done against infection.

What is it based on?

Does this mean that preschool staff must meet children with protective equipment or?

The infection has shown in studies to be able to stay on matter for a long time - what about clothes?

Ingela

Hello,

It is based on the fact that asymptomatic children are not considered contagious, while adults can spread the virus effectively.

If a child goes to preschool, the adult must keep their distance.

Can corona be infected even if you have no symptoms?

Alex

Hi, yes we expect you to be contagious 24 hours before you get symptoms.

Hi Signar!

It is often said that children often do not get very sick from corona ... but can they make adults very sick if they are transmitted?

Micke

Hi, A child with symptoms may very well infect others as well as adults.

If you have then become infected, it is how the adult reacts to the disease and not who you got the virus from that determines how sick you become.

What is being talked about is that from a societal perspective, it is adults who spread the virus easily and efficiently, while children are not as good at spreading the virus for any reason.

How should you think when you know that there is an infection at school, your child has a cold and tests negative and then gets a cold again a few days later?

Lots of colds are spinning too and my baby is going mostly right now (but basically healthy).

But should you burden healthcare with new tests every week?

Or stay home all the time for almost nothing as long as new small cold symptoms appear?

Mother

Hi, yes this is a problem that many people have.

When I worked at a children's clinic many years ago, I recommended parents to let a recurring "cold" child, as you describe it, be at home until the child was completely healthy and another time to recover.

Some children could better resist cold viruses if their parents chose that strategy.

My son comes home with daily testimonials that larger students at the school deliberately walk around coughing on smaller students and at the same time scare them like "now you should get corona".

.

The principal and teachers do nothing even though we are several parents who repeatedly point out how inappropriate it is.

When school does not do anything to protect my child, where can I turn then?

I do not want to stay at home but I will soon see no other solution.

Margareta

Hi Margareta,

My suggestion is that you have a meeting with the principal to discuss how the principal, teachers, possible break guards and guardians together can handle this situation.

No matter what bacteria and viruses you have in the airways, you should not cough on each other.

Today we tell you that it is a challenge for schools to handle the information about infection in schools.

Infection information a challenge for corona-affected schools

At Ärla school outside Eskilstuna, there was a large corona outbreak earlier in the autumn and for a short period the school was forced to close to get the situation in order.

Getting accurate information at short notice without telling either too much or too little can be a difficult balancing act in that situation. - Getting information about the current situation as quickly as possible, while taking into account patient confidentiality is important, says Rector Jessica Eriksson Nåsmark.
