Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The Rhineland-Palatinate Education Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD) has shown herself to be open to the suggestions made by Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn (CDU) on how to deal with corona infections in schools.

"We want as much school as possible at school," as long as health and infection protection permits, Hubig told the German Press Agency on Monday.

"A shortened quarantine could then enable more presence and give the schools clear orientation and thus more planning in the event of an infection."

Spahn's suggestion stipulates that in the event of a corona infection, the class affected should be immediately sent to domestic isolation for five days. On the fifth day there should be a quick test for everyone. If this is negative, the class can go back to school. Whether this is feasible from the point of view of the federal states must be discussed on Wednesday in the deliberations of the federal and state governments, Spahn told the editorial network Germany.
