Düsseldorf / Berlin (dpa / lnw) - In the corona pandemic, the situation in North Rhine-Westphalia remains tense.

The so-called weekly incidence only fell by 1.7 to 159.7, as stated by the State Office for Health NRW on Monday morning.

This means that around 160 people per 100,000 inhabitants have been infected with the coronavirus in the past seven days.

In the fight against the pandemic, a value of 50 is the threshold for introducing tougher measures - this threshold was broken a long time ago.

Around 233 015 infections have been recorded in North Rhine-Westphalia since the outbreak of the pandemic. More than two thirds of those affected are considered recovered, there are currently around 71,700 cases. 2,977 people have died in connection with the virus in North Rhine-Westphalia. However, the data situation is not complete on Monday mornings because some offices do not provide information immediately on weekends.
