The Electoral Commission suspends the publication of the provisional results common by commune, as it had started to do since Monday noon.

This decision was taken after a statement by the seven candidates who signed the political agreement of the opposition who had issued a statement to warn the Ceni.

They also expressed "very strong reservations about the sincerity and credibility of these results", denouncing the "massive nature of the irregularities and inadequacies".

Not happy that the Ceni has started to proclaim results joint by municipality, the seven candidates signing the opposition agreement are launching a warning shot.

In a statement read by Tahirou Barry, the conference of opposition candidates denounces the "

bankruptcy of the Ceni

" and the poor organization of the vote.

 It has been found that

polling stations planned to be opened remained closed

while other stations which should not be opened for reasons of insecurity were opened at the last minute without prior consultation of political actors and without the discharge of the Constitutional Council as it should be.

The opposition was therefore naturally unable to participate in the monitoring of electoral activities in these polling stations,

 ”Tahirou Barry told the press.

In their statement, the seven opposition candidates regret that voters were unable to speak, the absence and delay in the delivery of electoral materials or the unsecured transport of ballot boxes on motorcycles, source of fraud according to them.

“

The massive nature of these irregularities and shortcomings calls out to all those who are used to a better-developed electoral process.

In any case, the signatories of the political agreement of the opposition will not accept results marred by irregularities

”, they warn.

For the moment we are not rejecting the results

, confides a candidate leaving the room,

since the process is underway

" When the Ceni will proclaim the provisional overall results, the opposition will then make a new declaration.
