from a police source.

They were brought before an investigating magistrate and indicted for drug trafficking in an organized gang.

The case began on September 3, 2019. Two men, who were preparing to fly to Orly airport, were arrested in Cayenne in possession of 30 kg of white powder.

One of the two is already known to the police.

"It is well above the average", explains the commissioner Emmanuel Mericam, deputy interregional director of the judicial police of Pointe-à-Pitre.

Presented to an investigating judge, the duo was indicted.

Luxury items and vehicle seized

But investigators are continuing their investigations to identify other members of the network.

They managed to identify a sponsor, originally from Guyana, who lives in the Paris region.

On November 17, Ofast police officers and those from the Le Havre judicial police station arrested nine suspects, some of them family members of the first two suspects arrested.

During searches, they seize many luxury items, a vehicle and 6,000 euros in cash.
