“Having considered the petition and the materials presented by the investigation, the court agreed with the arguments of the investigating authority, choosing a preventive measure against the accused in the form of detention for a period of two months, until January 20, 2021,” the statement said.
According to the department, on November 20, a 47-year-old man was in a private household with his friend's six-year-old stepson, who instructed him to look after the child.
While under the influence of alcohol, the man stabbed the minor at least seven times with a knife.
The boy died on the spot from his injuries.
Earlier, the Ostankino court in Moscow arrested a woman who is accused of killing her two children in the northeast of the capital.
