According to the first findings of the police, an acquaintance wanted to visit the 90-year-old on Sunday and noticed a fire in the house.
Called rescue workers and fire fighters could only rescue the resident lifeless.
Resuscitation attempts remained unsuccessful, as the police announced on Monday.
A doctor could only determine the death of the man.
The smoldering fire in the house was extinguished by the fire brigade.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.
