Schwerin (dpa / mv) - In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 55 new corona infections were reported on Monday, according to the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (Lagus).

This increased the number of infections registered since March to at least 5247. Most new infections were reported from the Vorpommern-Greifswald district (19), followed by the Mecklenburg Lake District with 18. Last Monday, 30 new infections were reported nationwide.

The seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week, is 48.5 nationwide.

According to Lagus, this important value is highest in northwest Mecklenburg with 85.2, followed by Western Pomerania-Greifswald with 76.4.

These two districts are considered risk areas.

Counties are declared risk areas as soon as the 50 limit of this value is exceeded.

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, 54 people have died of or with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, one more than the day before.

Nationwide, 3845 of all infected are considered recovered.

According to the website www.intensivregister.de, 16 people are currently being ventilated invasively in MV, this number has not changed compared to Friday.
