Bandenitz (dpa / mv) - A 38-year-old quad rider fled from a police check in Bandenitz in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

The officers wanted to check the driver on the B321 on Saturday because three people were sitting on the quad, the police announced on Sunday.

During the attempt to escape, the 38-year-old crashed into a patrol car and then drove on.

The police stopped the quad in a field nearby.

It turned out that the quad rider had drunk alcohol and did not have a driver's license.

His driving license had been withdrawn at the beginning of the year because of drinking and driving.

The man is now being investigated.
