The filling in artificial greens is called granules.
The municipality of Nykvarn replaced the artificial turf in Furuborg earlier this year, but instead of replacing the granulate in the pitch, they chose to continue using the controversial black rubber.
- We have looked at other materials, but saw that they have other problems, says Liselotte Palmborg, culture and leisure director at Nykvarn municipality.
Degradable granules
In Salem municipality, a new artificial turf is now being built.
There they have chosen a degradable filling material.
