His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, yesterday received the friendly Secretary of State of the United States of America, Mike Pompeo.

During the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace, His Highness and Pompeo discussed the UAE-American relations of cooperation and friendship, and ways to enhance them in various fields, in addition to many regional and international issues of common concern.

The two sides exchanged views on developments in the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East, efforts and moves aimed at settling regional crises and containing tensions in them, through dialogue and diplomatic means and joint action to support the foundations of peace and regional stability, in addition to the dangers of extremism, terrorism, hate speech and incitement, and the need for effective international action. To face it.

In this context, they touched upon the peace treaty signed by the UAE and Israel (the Abraham Agreement), and its importance in starting a new phase of relations and cooperation between countries in the Middle East region, in addition to building on it to consolidate security, peace and stability, and achieve prosperity for the peoples of the region.

The meeting also dealt with the results of the Emirati-American strategic dialogue, which was launched last October, and its role in enhancing understanding between the two countries, deepening bilateral relations and pushing them to broader horizons in various fields, for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the country's ambassador to the United States of America, Youssef Maneh Al-Otaiba, and the Undersecretary of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei.
