Nearly 200 guests from both sides of the strait conducted exchanges and discussions on the theme of "Peace, Development, and Innovation".
Zheng Jianbang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice chairman of the National Revolutionary Committee of the People's Republic of China, said at the opening ceremony that solving the Taiwan issue and realizing the complete reunification of the motherland are the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.
Everyone should cherish the rare opportunity at the moment, open up new horizons in integrated development, and move towards a bright future in joint development.
It is hoped that this forum can further deepen and expand cross-strait youth exchanges, deepen the understanding and communication between cross-strait youths, and become a link to pass the friendship between cross-strait youths.
Long Mingbiao, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council’s Taiwan Affairs Office, said that the Cross-Strait Youth Peace Development Forum has become an important platform for cross-strait youth friends to communicate, dialogue and build consensus. It is also an important event for the exchange of ideas and emotional fusion among young friends on both sides of the strait.

In a video speech, New Party Chairman Wu Chengdian pointed out that young people must have dreams and hope that young people from Taiwan will come to the mainland to find their own stage with a sincere heart and plan to take root. He also hopes that young people on both sides of the strait can work together and inspire each other.
In the keynote speech session, five guests from both sides of the strait shared on topics such as how young people communicate, start entrepreneurship and employment, and what contributions can young people on both sides of the strait make to the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.
In the dialogue session, eight representatives of cross-strait youth conducted in-depth exchanges on the theme of “integrated development and mission responsibility of cross-strait youth in the post-epidemic era”.
The event was sponsored by China Zhongshan Cultural Exchange Association and Shanghai Zhongshan Society.
On the same day, the Beijing International Film Festival and the "Tuan Zi Yuan Niu" cooperation project, "Cross-Strait Music and Cultural Exchange Activities" and "Cross-Strait Youth Film and Television Culture Week" were officially launched.
