Three students in the Applied Science High School in Falaj Al Mualla in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain created a lathing and household manufacturing machine, used in the production of art pieces and "decorative" models to decorate homes and offices.

The students: Nawaf Zaal, Rashed Ibrahim and Rashid Sultan, through their completion of the turning machine project, are targeting to provide innovative ideas for small projects to young people who want to form their own businesses, and to provide the local market with innovative artistic products to decorate private and public places.

The teacher at the Applied Sciences High School in Falaj Al-Mualla, Engineer Bahaa Al-Din Saleh, said that the lathe machine can be used by workers, hobbyists and students in homes and small workshops to produce sculptures and engraving artworks.

He added that the machine consists of a sensor, a motor and a control unit, and the user can control the speed of the machine according to the object or piece he wants to manufacture.

He pointed out that the students provided the device, which was supervised by Engineer Khaled Jumaa, a high school teacher, with several safety precautions, as it does not work if the user does not have the appropriate coding code to operate the machine, and it also contains a sensor that stops the machine in emergency situations .

Saleh mentioned that the cost of constructing the machine is about $ 500 (about 1850 dirhams), stressing that the lathe can be used and installed easily in homes, pointing out that the cost increases as the size of the machine increases.

He pointed out that the Applied Science High School aims to develop the talents and creativity of its students, by providing all means of support for them.
