According to him, at the online meeting of the ministers, it was decided to start preparing a new round of sanctions "in response to the violence of the authorities and in order to support the Belarusian people."

"These sanctions will be introduced not only against individuals, but also against (government) structures, companies and entrepreneurs," Borrell quoted TASS as saying.

Earlier, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Germany, Heiko Maas, said that Berlin does not see any constructive steps on the part of the Belarusian authorities to resolve the political crisis and intends to continue the course of sanctions.

In early November, the European Union introduced a package of individual sanctions on Belarus, including against the president of the republic, Alexander Lukashenko.

Later, Brussels allowed the introduction of additional restrictions in connection with the death of a protester Roman Bondarenko.
