A resolution on human rights in North Korea that criticizes North Korea's human rights violations and calls for improvement was adopted by the third committee under the UN General Assembly.

The resolution is scheduled for a plenary session of the UN General Assembly next month.

The North Korean human rights resolution has been adopted for 16 consecutive years since 2005.

The resolution added new concerns about the humanitarian crisis arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, and also included criticism on the issue of human rights violations.
