Kylian Mbappé, back after being injured since the start of the Blues rally, was placed on the substitute bench against Sweden on Tuesday in Saint-Denis (8:45 p.m.), unlike Olivier Giroud and Marcus Thuram for the last day League of Nations.

If he came into play, the Paris SG striker would return to competition after more than two weeks without a match for a thigh problem.

He had missed the first two matches of the Blues in November, against Finland (2-0 loss) and Portugal (1-0 victory), coach Didier Deschamps wishing to take "no risk".

Deschamps had indicated Monday that he had "two options" between a tenure and an entry into play during the meeting for his 21-year-old prodigy.

He finally opted for the second, leaving the tricolor attack to Giroud and Antoine Griezmann.

In the middle, Deschamps is deprived of N'Golo Kanté (suspended) and Corentin Tolisso (injured and returned to the club).

The coach therefore opted for a Paul Pogba - Adrien Rabiot pair, at the heart of his 4-4-2 system.

Rabiot had however trained separately on Monday.

On the sides, Moussa Sissoko and especially Marcus Thuram, who is already celebrating his third selection, are holders.

In defense in front of captain Hugo Lloris, the four strongmen of the victory in Lisbon on Saturday are renewed: Benjamin Pavard, Raphaël Varane, Presnel Kimpembe and Lucas Hernandez.

The Swedes, winner Saturday 2-1 of Croatia and still in contention for the maintenance in the first division of League of Nations, line up a team without surprise, with a notable absence: that of captain Albin Ekdal, suspended.

The coach Janne Andersson, affected by the Covid-19, is also absent.
